Valentine’s Day Flower Surprise

With Valentine’s Day a couple of days away it is an awesome opportunity to surprise people in your community. Everyone could use a surprise flower! Here is how we are surprising people with flowers and how you can do the same.

We are using two methods to surprise people with roses this Valentine’s Day. The first is that we are teaming up with some local shops in our area. We asked three shops if we could supply the roses for them to set out for their customers. They all agreed! When the customers go up to buy their goods the shop owners are going to give them a rose along with our GuerrillaGivers card. Since this will not be posted anywhere ahead of time it will be a surprise for their customers on this special day. For some people, it may be the only gift they receive and will be a memorable experience they will tell friends and family.

The second way we are going to surprise the community with roses is by placing buckets of roses on top of community mailboxes. There will be a note telling people to, “Please take one. Keep it for yourself, or give it to a loved one.” When people go to get their mail they will see the roses and hopefully grab a rose. This will create a conversation between neighbors about whether or not they received a rose and hopefully push them to do an act of GuerrillaGiving in the future.

While it may be hard to partner with local businesses, anyone can put roses on top of a community mailbox or on a sidewalk corner. It may cost you $20 to buy a bouquet of roses, but the impact it can bring to multiple people and families is worth the money.

This act of giving can be done on any day of the year, it just goes hand-in-hand with the upcoming holiday.
